| Auburn
University (AU) Canine Detection Training Center (CDTC) provides recertification
services. Currently, there is no national standard or requirement;
however, the unwritten industry custom is that a canine team receives an
annual evaluation for the purpose of maintaining certification.
Our
staff can perform evaluations at your site, or at AU CDTC. Testing
can be in accordance with your program or agency’s evaluation guidelines,
or the AU CDTC evaluation guidelines. We can provide you a much stronger
evaluation and more valuable feedback when conducting evaluations of your
canine teams in their operational area. On site evaluations can provide
you with the true picture of how your teams are performing day-to-day and
identify detection deficiencies that may only occur in your operational
environment. Although on site evaluation are recommended, they are
more costly than evaluations conducted at AU CDTC, since the price also
includes the evaluator’s associated travel costs. However, if you
have three or more teams, the price becomes cost effective.
We
would prefer conducting on site evaluations during November and December
if possible. Contact Mr. John Pearce (256) 820-8251 Ext. 102 to schedule
on site evaluations. Evaluations at AU CDTC can be scheduled on line
for AU CDTC graduate teams and the cost is minimal. If the team is
not an AU CDTC graduate, please contact Mr. Pearce at the number provided
above.
